When people think of new Porsche vehicles, the Porsche Macan is too often overlooked. The Porsche Cayenne practically invented the performance luxury SUV, after all, and many drivers love the speed of the Porsche 911 and Porsche 718 Cayman. But this compact SUV has charms all its own, especially now that the latest model is in stock at Porsche Nashua.

Drivers will find much to like in the 2018 Porsche Macan. There are five different engine choices, ranging from 252 to 440 horsepower. There’s a grippy, sure-footed AWD system that directs more torque to the rear wheels for better handling. The suspension is better suited to hairpin turns than off-roading, but the Porsche Macan is still surprisingly capable when the going gets rough.

All that and you’re also treated to a luxurious interior paired to an Android Auto / Apple CarPlay compatible PCM infotainment system. What’s not to love?

Well, some have their gripes. Reviewing the Porsche Macan, Car and Driver noted that it’s no Porsche 911. While they get high marks for noticing and stating the obvious, we take issue with that criticism. After all, if you want a Porsche 911, you go to your Nashua Porsche dealership and buy one. But as much as we love it, it’s not for everyone.

What’s more, the Porsche Macan is designed for a different purpose and a different kind of driver. And as Calvin Kim of Edmunds points out, “No automaker is more skilled at making an amalgamation of a sports car and an SUV as Porsche.” Taken in its own right, the Porsche Macan has pitifully few equals.
